CORONAVIRUS 2020 – to all our guests
We hope that you and your families are all safe and well. We had hoped that the cabin would be available for those who wished to get away for a break and enjoy the peace and seclusion of the cabin, especially in these difficult and worrying times.
Our priority is for everyone to stay safe and well and follow NHS and government advice so we can get through this pandemic as best we can. Please see below the updated advice from the government website against non essential travel. In accordance with this and with deep regret I must advise that the cabin is unavailable until further notice.
Anyone who has booked already and paid their deposit will have the option of cancellation for an immediate refund or if they prefer, of retaining the booking until nearer the time when a final decision can be made depending on the advice at that time. Bookings may still be taken on this same basis with the assurance that deposits will be refunded if cancellation is required.
I am sorry to have to take this action and hope you understand. Hopefully very soon we will find a way through this and restrictions will be relaxed.
Until then, to all – Stay Home & Stay Safe
Following on from the government’s guidance on social distancing in relation to COVID-19, people should avoid travelling unless it is essential.
Who this guidance is for
This guidance is for people planning to visit second homes or holiday premises during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Essential travel does not include visits to second homes, camp sites, caravan parks or similar, whether for isolation purposes or holidays. People should remain in their primary residence. Not taking these steps puts additional pressure on communities and services that are already at risk
* I usually come to the cabin to settle guests in on arrival but if you prefer I can contact you by phone or provide a transcript of all the information I usually go through.
* I usually provide complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, milk, biscuits & chocolates but please advise if you prefer me not to
* If you wish to cancel your booking please let me know and I will refund your deposit or hold for future booking if you wish
* Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concerns and I will try my best to accommodate your requests
PLEASE STAY SAFE xx Julie
SELF-CATERING RIVERSIDE CABIN
Check out our log style cabin at the river, for rent on a self-catering basis. Perfect for nature lovers, or even just for a romantic getaway or quiet break, it stands alone, set between woods and countryside. We are located in Aghadowey, between the towns of Coleraine & Ballymoney, convenient to the tourist trail of the North Coast and all it has to offer. We are also very close to facilities such as The Brown Trout Inn & Golf Club, Drumaheaglis Marina & Canoe Trail and horse riding. Pets Welcome.
Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) Certified
We have a range of products to cater for your birds and wildlife, including nest boxes and feeders, to encourage them into your garden for you to enjoy. We also have some fun and educational items for children, such as the plush birds (with birdsong), as well as attractive gifts for you and your home.
WILD BIRD FEEDING SERVICES
We offer a range of services to help you, including the set up and maintenance of bird feeders and feeding stations in your own garden, as well as special packages for local schools, residential homes and businesses.
At Willowfield, where we live with our pets, we pride ourselves in also providing a home for nature, and our aim is to encourage and enable others to experience and enjoy it for themselves. We are so lucky to have so many species of birds here, 57 at the last count, we want others to share in the joy they bring.
We are very fortunate that our grounds extend to the banks of the Aghadowey River (the ‘Wee Agivey’) that brings it’s own wildlife flowing through, from the fish in the river and birds like the kingfisher, dipper and assorted ducks and swans, to the hedgehogs, foxes, badgers and the otters that have recently appeared.
We have our own pet goats in residence in the paddock. We also have a wildlife pond full of life; frogs, fish, dragonflies and damselflies, all very attractive to the local heron population, and the little islands in the middle of the pond have offered safe haven to ducks and their ducklings fleeing the fox!
Whether you come and stay in Willowfield Riverside Cabin for a bit of relaxing bird & nature spotting, or take advantage of the Wild Bird Feeding Services and Wildlife Products we offer for your own home, we hope we can help you share in the joy of birds and the nature around us all.
We Hope To See You Soon. . . . .
